Zoe Yin

Course Title: Natural Hazards and Society

Zoe Yin is a graduate student and a PhD Candidate at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD studying geophysics. She has attained numerous awards and grants, and her publications and presentations represent her vast knowledge on the subject. Her work focuses on the characterization of earthquake hazard and risk. As a program manager for the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, Zoe managed a public policy and advocacy program in which she strengthened her understanding of the complex scientific-political landscape and forms much of the context for this course content.
