Instructors
Academic Connections courses are selected to represent some of the most exciting fields of research UCSD has to offer in the physical and social sciences, engineering, and arts and humanities. All courses are challenging and place emphasis on active learning and putting knowledge to use in independent and creative ways.
Academic Connections instructors are typically UCSD doctoral students who design and teach their own courses. Their desire is to convey to students their enthusiasm for learning and their commitment to education. They are hired based on their ability to engage students academically; courses are designed for students entering grades 9-12 with a strong academic background. Class enrollment is limited to 25 and all classes with an enrollment of 12 or greater have the option of hiring a co-instructor.
