Sonja Huc

Course Title: Introduction to Marine Invertebrates and Phylogenetics

Sonja Huč is currently pursuing her PhD in Integrative, Comparative, and Marine Biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, she previously earned her BS in Biology at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, and her MS in Marine Biology at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UCSD. Her main research interests are (deep-sea, marine) invertebrate phylogenetics, biodiversity, and systematics. She is a member of the Deep-sea Biology Society, American Malacological Society, and The Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology. She has been an instructor for Academic Connections since 2022 and really enjoys various teaching roles she has encountered. In 2023, she worked as a marine invertebrate technician in the Rouse Lab, which is where she obtained her MS degree.
