The Legal Aid Society Immigration Law Unit, New York, NY, Paralegal Casehandler (3-8/07)
Assisted in developing a new advocacy project with the Robin Hood Foundation to increase access to immigration legal assistance for low-income New York City immigrants; trained staff at 16 Robin Hood grantee sites throughout the city about immigration law; conducted workshops in English and Spanish; performed outreach and prepared applications.

Organization for Youth Empowerment (OYE), El Progreso, Honduras 9/04-6/06
Co-Founder and Art Program Director
Co-founded not-for-profit organization based in Washington, DC with three full-time staff in Honduras, dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth through educational and cultural programs; curated photography exhibit that traveled to El Progreso, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa and internationally to expand public awareness of OYE’s programs.
Program Management
Designed curriculum and ran after-school art program for 60 students aged 5 to 20, including painting and drawing classes and a series of photography and video workshops; directed children aged 8 to 18 in the design and execution of two large-scale public mural projects; planned and served as assistant educator for a weekly, year-long health education and youth development program for 40 adolescent girls, on social growth and development topics; co-coordinated volunteer program, including recruiting, training and supervising volunteers.
