Leon Lee

Course Title: History and Practice of Hip Hop

Leon Lee is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in ethnic studies from the University of California, San Diego. In addition to being a teaching assistant for various undergraduate courses at UC San Diego, he also has experience as an Academic Coach and Tutor for the Summer Youth Academic and Employment Program in 4 underserved San Francisco high schools. He was also the President and founder of UC Riverside's chapter of Hip Hop Congress.

Leon has been a teaching assistant for UC San Diego since September 2016. He instructs and implements original lesson plans for multiple undergraduate disucssion sections. He also has experience as an apprentice teacher at Garfield High Continuation School in San Diego, where he coordinated instructional efforts with the lead English teacher and provided additional support for youth outside of designated class times for homework help.
