Erica Bender

Course Title: Media Matters: Stereotypes and Social Change in Popular Media

Erica Bender is a PhD candidate in Sociology. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Chapman University and Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of California, San Diego. Her research interests include: inequality, culture, organizations and military issues. She is currently completing the collection of original data for her dissertation: "Strategic Action in Veterans Reintegration.

Erica has served as a teaching assistant and course grader for numerous sociology courses at UC San Diego and is a returning instructor for Academic Connections. She has been invited to give guest lectures for courses at UC San Diego and Chapman University. Before entering her Ph.D. program, Erica also taught English Language at Sichuan University (China).
