Christa Trexler

Course Title: Body Language: How Cells Use Hormones to Communicate

Christa recieved her doctorate in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently a postdoctoral research fellow with Dr. Ju Chen at the University of California, San Diego. She is a former research technician with SenesTech, Inc., where she worked as part of a team to perform histological analysis across multiple rodent organ systems to identofy potential side effects of drug treatment.

  • BA in Biological Sciences, Northern Arizona University
  • Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology, University of Colorado at Boulder
Christa formerly mentored middle school and high school science fair participants at the Denver Metro Regional Science and Engineering Fair. She also mentored graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She taught students essential laboratory skills and techniques as well as supervised students on independent laboratory projects. She was a former teaching assistant in the Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Develomental Biology for courses such as Genetics and Introduction to Cellular and Developmental Biology.
