 A health professional, usually a nurse, is available for all or part of the day to screen student medical complaints and provide first aid at the UCSD Student Health Center. In general, students who become ill or injured during the program are referred to local emergency rooms for treatment. A program staff member accompanies the student on any such trips, and parents are informed as soon as possible. The costs associated with these referrals are the responsibility of the student's family. |
